So blogger wrote me to warn that it won't support FTP after May 1st. So hooray one last blog entry. I wish it could have been great and insightful, but such is the way of things... so to sum up:

Spudlette had an exciting and gift-packed birthday. So now she can properly play restaurant, which I'm told is very advanced play for a just-two year old. She cooks, she serves, she sprinkles "little bit - ciminum!" She really wants to speak in smooth sentences, so she peppers her speech with "ish -ish -ish" whenever she needs to. Like, "Ish -ish -ish, zoo look at elephant." or "Ish -ish 'nore ish -ish -ish lintels." Also, she thinks the word for 'carry' is 'carry-you'. "Daddy carry-you" does not mean she will carry me. Quite the reverse.

In politics, everyone still makes me angry, though nobody in particular.

... my last chance to speak into the internet (for a while anyway) and nothing comes to mind...

...zzz...

Oh it has been too long since a report on Spudlette found its way onto the 'tubes. It's a language explosion this month. She's speaking in sentences, like "I got it!" and "play granny's toys!" She knows numbers up to ten, and can reliably count objects to three. And she can sing the alphabet song and Rock Your Baby, with some guidance from her guardians.

Especially fun was her sudden desire to go to church, then after the visit saying "Granny take 'nore cat church" which they hope to do soon. She also is using a certain interjection in context. In my defense, we have a Windows-based computer. So we encourage all forms of whoops, oopsies, whoopsie-doodles, rats, and the like, and pray during our new church visits that the f-bomb vanishes back into the ether. At least until high school, when we fully expect again to be showered with its f-ishness.

Watching the opening of the winter Olympics with Matt Lauer and Bob Costas is like going to a movie and getting stuck in front of two d-bags who won't shut up about what they read in People Magazine about the private lives of the various actors on screen.

Hooray, stupidity! Whether it's scientific knowledge, human rights, or economic theory, conservatives can always be counted on to fall backwards with pride and vengeance.

Especially vexing is how this McLeroy character can rail against experts while claiming to know more about evolution than professional biologists, more about history than historians... more about everything than anyone else. I guess he just hates all experts who aren't him.

Well, now I've turned the comments back off again. Blogger has decided to no longer support FTP, which is the way I do internet web logging. So I'll have to switch to something else in the next couple weeks, probably wordpress, since that seems like a tool more than a service. Thanks for seven years of free use, blogger, but I'll let the door hit me on the way out. So look forward to things all falling apart around here. If the blog disappears, or your bookmarks of all your favorite, historic entries don't work anymore, just thank both Blogger's jerkiness and my stupidity working together to make a less better tomorrow...

Comments may or may not be working again... and may or may not archive... Good luck, everyone! Alas, the many insightful, trenchant, poetic posts by commenters, some of whom weren't even sock puppets from the before-time are lost forever. Perhaps a smart person could have saved them, but, well, you've read the blog.

Somehow, I just now heard of this. If anyone wants to build a team with me, LET'S GO! Email, because comments stopped working, and probably the whole blog will be dead in March. It's ok really, I hear blogs are old people things anyways.

Read this interview of a smart person and feel smart by proximity! It's about what's up with all this recession-ing. Here's a fun quote:
Secrecy, in almost all aspects of federal government, is a cover for inadequacy and inability to explain yourself in public.

Spudlette knows many colors: red, yellow, green... Here's her showing you "Blue Steel".

The clothes are a giveaway to the picture's age which I blame on our many computer / technology problems, all of which are easily fixed with money we don't have.
